    Made this for my XLT

Easy to make and buttons still work...hopefully it saves the screen from damage!
Not sure if it was the right forum for this...if anyone wants one let me know, maybe I can talk my wife into making a few!

    VERY NICE!!

Is it water proof by any chance?
I purchased one of the ones whites makes and it is pretty much garbage!!Doesn't fit right and you cant access the buttons without lifting it up.Fits real loose and sloppy..

NIce indeed, i wouldn't mind having one but I do have a comment.

Keep from damaging the screen. Ive had my detector for over 12 years and never damaged the screen. Granted accidents can happen but if you are damaging your screen, you really need to be more careful with your detector. Chances are a sharp bang / slash / whatever that can damage the screen (ie dropping it and hitting something maybe) can probably eventually shake loose electronics inside too.

For the person asking if it was waterproof, NO, even if it was, the barrel of the handle is not and it'd still bring water up to your rig and into the board via the screws holes that hold it to the box.

I must be a mad man with the digger....I've hit it twice now, thankfully no damage! My wife says she doesnt want to make any more... If anyone wants to make one I used the bottom plastic of a strawberry tray (whatever u get strawberrys in from the store). I used parts of an old bag that I had, just velcro it around the back

hey that works. Keep the machine away from the hole when you are digging bud

The whites screen covers are suprisingly strong, I first thought with them being.. well.. squishy for lack of a better word, they'd tear and get ruined in short order.. nope, things are sturdy and for the most part bounce right back when you thump em.

Thanks for the info on your project, I have some plastic dishes here I might give one a try.
