How to best carry my XLT/Vibraprobe/misc gear on a bike?

If at all possible i'd like to NOT take the coil off of the plastic shaft since it's a pain in the butt, the other 2 disassembly points are fine.

Right now i'm just using a somewhat large duffle bag, which is fine for walking or the bus, but no fun for biking.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

a backpack, you may have to cut a hole so the shaft sticks into an upper compartment or out the top.wrap all
separate parts in a soft towel.rubber band foam padding around screen and pinpoint trigger for added protection.

I do have a good backpack that will fit all the parts, and it's even waterproof, but the lcd/electronic section is horribly bulky and doesn't feel good at all when I ride.

I wish there was a good pelican case that I could strap onto the back trunk rack of the bike that would hold the detector. Those things are nearly bomb-proof.
