Whites new "300" 12-inch coil: Any Reviews yet on this?
Whites has come out with a 12-inch coil for the DFX and MXT.
Anyone had a chance to try out the new coil?
Need a review or two . . .
Is it worth purchasing?? I already have the standard 9" and 4x6-inch DD.
Pretty happy with that, so it would take quite a bit to tempt me.

I have the Super 12. It is only 3 oz heavier than the stock coil. Gets a little deeper than the stock coil and runs pretty stable. Like any large coil it is best in low trash areas. Lots more info at www.dfxonly.com

I swapped from 950 to Super 12
went from 950 to super 12..on the beach I have got a great increase in depth and very stable easy to swing in surf!! I use this coil on my BEACH HUNTER ID..It is a DFX water proofed...I have hunted fields and land with the coil..I went over spots I thought were hunted out by me with other detectors and coils...its like hunting a new spot!! I got some deep silver dimes..1944 merc and a 1916 barber in great shape!! I am sure the super 12 is the reason I got them..my buddy hunted this area with his EXSPLORER II w/10" coil and did not find them Good luck in your choice!!

Verdicts still out for me. I have only used it a few times. I haven't found anything with it as deep as I have with the stock coil but I plan on giving it a hard workout at Louisiana Bayou Hunt this coming weekend. We shall see!

I didn't think the Super 12 was any better than my 8" EX coil. Glad I didn't pay for the Super 12 (free from White's) anyway, it's gone.

I`ve been using the new 300 coil (beach hunter id) for a couple weeks now and boy i find it harder to pinpoint my target seems like i dig a wider hole just to find my target..i kind of liked the 9.5" coil better for this...but i`m getting used to it. i smile when i get the target in 1 scoop instead of 10 tries... i have found targets the size of a pea so it does hit small targets.

Re: Whites new "300" 12-inch coil: Any Reviews yet on this?
Hi Vinny,
Check out the thread further down a bit entitled "Question of depth of the 12" coil". I posted my coin plot results there. Bottom line here is that you can get an extra inch or two (my coins are buried at depth intervals of 2 inches so it may not be accurate to say an extra depth of two inches) while increasing both your coverage in areas where targets are few and far between, and increasing your ability (prospecting wise) to get larger ores deeper than the stock coil. Nothing new under the sun. BTW, my coin plot is freshly buried pennies, something to keep in mind.
Jim.
Time, oh good sweet time...where did you go?

Re: Whites new "300" 12-inch coil: Any Reviews yet on this?
I had the coil installed on my BHID (beach hunting) and it works great!
No problem pinpointing targets (just a little practice and it's easy).
Hot on the smaller targets, works well in the water, fast recovery and more stable!
I really like this coil!!!
