What Coil for Using MXT as Deep Target Machine?

I'm planning on using my lightweight machine for open field and woods scouting, in search of Civil War camps. But, once located I'm planning on using my MXT for deep search, since the lightweight machine doesn't have any large coils. Which would be better for this, the 12" Super coil or the 10" X 14" Excelerator coil? I'm also considering the 14" Circular DD coil, but don't know if the weight wouldn't be a little prohibitive and don't know if the depth difference between the 12" and the 14" would be worth it. Can someone with experience on the larger coils give me some ideas?

I use my stock coil and my 6x10 DD when I'm relic hunting and have no problem with depth. If your thinking about using the 12", that should be plenty good enough. What I found so far that most relics aren't really that deep. IMHO., Bigger isn't always better. Hope this helps.

Thanks sniper, you're right on the depth thing for the most part, but in some of the marshy areas here in N. Alabama, depth is an issue. Also, the fine people of Alabama have had an almost prenatural liking for landscaping and some sites wind up under fill dirt that adds just enough depth as to be difficult.
