Need tip about: Mixed Mode - MXT
Hi everyone!
I need tips about Mixed Mode. For example, the discrimination operates until "x" depth, and then? What is my reference if I have to dig or not?
Anyone uses to operate his MXT in Mixed Mode? Help, please!!
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Need tip about: Mixed Mode - MXT
The MXT does not have a mixed mode function I think?
Maybe you are referring to XLT or DFX?
When in mixed mode two things are operating at the same time, discrimination mode and none discriminate mode.
When the disc mode can reach it (depth wise) it will give you a VDI number and so on.
But when disc mode can't reach it you only get a beep, no VDI number etc.
Good Hunting!

Hi,
The MXT has a trigger with three different positions: 1)Ping Point (squeezing) 2)Center position:Normal 3)Mixed Mode
Thanks my friend for your answer!

Hello mate,
About the trigger:
1. forward - Alternative mode
2. Middle - Normal hunting setting
3. towards you - Pinpoint
You are referring to the Alternitive mode which discs out the pull tab range.
Go to page 14 in the manual.

Re: Need tip about: Mixed Mode - MXT
Hi,
You´re right, I thought that If I set the trigger in forward position, that was the mixed mode, but I was wrong...
Could you tell me, how can I get a little bit more depth in Relic Mode? I use to operate my MXT in Relic Mode, Ground, Dual Control between 3 or 4 and Gain +3 (maximum).
I use to walk on labor fields (Spain), trying to find roman coins, but many of detectorists did their job before me... for that reason I need to improve depth in 5 cm at least. Have you any tip?
Thanks you again!!

Try another coil maybe?
You can also go into pinpoint mode which uses all metal which often is deeper then disc mode, but as I don't have a MXT I am not 100% sure that this is the case for you also.
You can also try to get there after a rain, as water makes metal more conductive.
Another thing is to accept EVERYTHING as some coins can be masked by iron and such.

Yes but if there is much trash a smaller coil is better.
Mate, try a DD coil as it sees less ground and less targets thus it does not see as much trash either.
No problem.
