Sunray Probe for XLT

I'm looking to purchase a new pinpointer to dectect with and have been looking at the Sunray inline probe. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this product, maybe pros and cons. All info is appreciated.

I have owned one for my XLT for over a year now and have nothing but praise for it.
This year, when I bought my DFX I hated having to wait for the probe to come in the mail after it.
You just get so used to the ease of pinpointing with it.
Expect 2-4 inches of pinpointing depth with whatever programmed discrimination you are using,
not have to buy batteries for it and finding those pesky targets that hide in the side of your holes.
It does add some weight to your detector, but you get used to it. If you upgrade to a new type of detector,
you will need a different probe.
Retail is 179.95 and if you can afford it, well worth it.

Thats the kind of info I wanted. Have you experienced any disadvantages with it?

Actually I listed the ones I noticed above.
It makes the detector slightly, but noticeably heavier, but you get used to it.
Its more costly then some probes and a new one may need to be purchased if you
buy another type of detector, even if its the same brand.
I have heard some complain about it being attached to the detector but I like it.
Other then that remember to flip the toggle switch back to coil from probe.
That one gets me from time to time. But no complaints when it comes to operation.
Its just like having a 1 inch coil you can flip a switch too.

The probe is a must have. No extra batteries, shows up on your screen. Just remember the lower your gain setting the shorter the range. The range goes up as you change your gain and other settings above standard specs. The weight will be a factor if you already have a problem with the XLT weight, but still worth the price. Also the manuf Ralph is a wealth of knowledge and is always there to give tips. let me know if you need a good price.
