DFX Question?

Hello. I just bought a DFX used for $325. It was first purchased back in 2003 with software from system 1.0

Are the current DFX's still using this 1.0 software? Or did I buy an older model? Can you reboot with new chip to make it more

up to date? It seems to work fine and am already finding more coins from area's that have been hit hard.
