I recently saw a reference to a permit requirement for metal detecting in Waukesha. Is this true?...........Chuck

Well, both actually. I have detected in waukesha but have never had a permit. I don.t want to run afoul of the law..........CT

I realize this is about a year late, but yes you do need a permit for county parks. Just email the parks department and they will forward it on to the right person.
