Monroe Park Gold Mining MuseumProspecting General Gold Mining Museum Monroe Park is a 14.25 acre park dedicated to preserving the history of Gold Mining in Virginia. The museum, when completed, will be a re-creation of a mining camp with two bunk houses, an assay office, a mess hall, a power shed, a recirculating panning stream, and various mills and stamps. Currently the museum is housed in the mess hall, where a small collection is on display. Museum hours are Wednesday- Friday from 11am-4pm.
