Heading It pays to search demolition sites!
Description By rights, Bob Lanier should have been here last year... but some guys would rather go after new finds that reminisce about old ones! However, with a little urging from a friend, his Arkansas state seal buttons are at last in the winner's circle, where they belong. Bob dug the dandy duo in a small west Alabama town where an entire city block was under demolition. Knowing that it had been a Civil War hotspot, he contacted a couple of friends and got the go-ahead. Unfortunately, apart from a Confederate "I" button and a few bullets, it didn't prove too productive until Bob changed his strategy and moved to the neglected south edge of the property. Minutes passed without much encouragement, and then- a solid reading, an Arkansas button, and another! Others may say such finds are few and far between, but Bob Lanier is out to narrow the distance every chance he gets!
