| Description |
By rights, Bob Lanier should have been here last year... but some guys would rather go after new finds that reminisce about old ones! However, with a little urging from a friend, his Arkansas state seal buttons are at last in the winner's circle, where they belong. Bob dug the dandy duo in a small west Alabama town where an entire city block was under demolition. Knowing that it had been a Civil War hotspot, he contacted a couple of friends and got the go-ahead. Unfortunately, apart from a Confederate "I" button and a few bullets, it didn't prove too productive until Bob changed his strategy and moved to the neglected south edge of the property. Minutes passed without much encouragement, and then- a solid reading, an Arkansas button, and another! Others may say such finds are few and far between, but Bob Lanier is out to narrow the distance every chance he gets!
