Heading In excellent condition for being in the ground at least 100 years
Description Working a Michigan park which was often the scene of G.A.R. reunions, Robert MacDougal uncovered an antique sterling pocket watch and chain which he feels may have belonged to one of the first G.A.R. officers in the county. Jeweler Peter C. LeFavour reports, "The watch is in excellent condition for being in the ground at least 100 years," adding that his appraisal does not reflect the added value that the watch might have for those with a special interest in its history.
