| Description |
Last October, Randy Boyles joined some friends for a day at the beach... a day of detecting, that is. It was a new experience for him, but he quickly got the hang of it. How quickly? "On the first sweep of the coil, I found a ring 3" deep in dry sand," relates Randy. "Actually, it was the first ring I'd ever found, and my first time beach hunting." The $2,500 14K gold engagement ring boasts seven marquise diamonds- a .37 carat stone in the center, flanked by three smaller ones, .12 carat each, on either side. As you're thumbing through this issue, pause at page 61 and let Randy's friend Jim Spivey give you his version of the adventure in "A Diamond-studded Start"! |
