On my first swing, I got a $2,400 beep! |
| Description |
Just back from a business trip, Ross Lincoln got a call from his detecting partner Garry. It seems a lady had lost a set of rings while feeding cattle, and for three weeks family members and other detectorists had gridded the most obvious areas of the 18-acre pasture. Questioned about the incident, the lady painstakingly went through all the details, but Ross couldn't help thinking that she might have overlooked or forgotten something. So, he followed a hunch to an outlying area where, "On my first swing, I got a $2,400 beep!" Courteously declining any reward from the elated owner, Ross asked only to be allowed to display the ring in his club's next "Find of the Month" contest. He did, and he won... three silver dimes and trophy.
