Detecting around an historic home in Maryland, Floyd Lynch had just pocketed an old coin when he got another signal 2' away. This time the target was an ornate gold thimble engraved with the owner's initials. Research proved it to be a scenic-banded, machine drawn & punched type probably dating from the turn of the century. Although it is unmarked (an indication that it was made somewhere other than the U.S., England, or Germany), tests confirm that it is 16K gold. |
