Water hunting is Mike Robinson's first choice, but he'll head inland anytime for finds like those he enjoyed when he accompanied Tom Sharpe to a Colonial homestead in Connecticut. "We recovered many large cents, Connecticut coppers, silver 3¢ pieces, buttons, buckles... even a bayonet and a cannonball! I found a 1783 Nova Constellatio copper, too. My best find, though, which I later had authenticated, was a 1652 Massachusetts Pine Tree shilling!"- a coin which in VG-F condition would retail for $1,000+. Mike modestly attributes much of his success in this venture to his friend Tom, saying, "I was only lucky enough to share in it because of his invitation and encouragement. Friends do make a difference!"
