For use at Fort Thompson, Dakota Territory |
| Description |
Uncertain of the significance and value of his find, Lowell "Pete" Bohnet took a tip from a friend and decided to "Ask Mark Parker." The answer? The token was issued in the 1860s or '70s for use at Fort Thompson, Dakota Territory, by a post trader known only as "F.J.D. & Co." This one is marked "25"; there are also "50" and "100" denominations. Both highly collectable and historically important, it's easily one of the finer tokens reported to W&ET in the past year. |
