Title NORTH CAROLINA CONTINENTAL ARMY BUTTON
Image
Found in 1996
Found By Joseph G. Whitby
Value 750
Category Button
Heading One of the scarcest buttons of the Revolutionary War
Description It's not just a great find...it's Revolutionary! One of the scarcest of the USA-monogram Continental Army buttons of the Revolutionary War, Joseph G. Whitby's "NC" (North Carolina) variety could easily bring more than "book" value. In remarkably good condition for a field-recovered pewter button of its age, with shank intact, it should generate considerable interest among collectors, as it did at the Halifax County Museum where it was recently displayed.
Condition Fair
