Heading Ring set w/ two small diamonds and a marquise fire opal
Description After buying a new beach machine last summer, a certain treasure hunter headed for a popular San Diego strand and promptly scooped up a ring set with two small diamonds and a marquise fire opal. As you can see, the next day, things got even better. Four inches deep in dry sand was a man's gold ring channel-set with five diamonds! A jeweler's appraisal report describes the stones, which have an approximate total weight of 1.0 carat, as "VS-1 to SI-1, and white to the eye." The weight of the 14K mounting is listed as 24.2 grams. Retail replacement value: $3,200. The finder? Anonymous, at his request. Address? Phone number? Sorry, those are strictly confidential, too... but chances are, he can be reached at the beach!
