| Description |
Relaxing on a sailboat with her husband John, Suzanne had let her ring slip into the water... and not just any ring, either. A present from her mother, the wide, custom-crafted platinum band was set with a spectacular 2-1/2 carat diamond solitaire, flanked by two blue sapphires. Could divers George and Alice Platt find it? Loading up their scuba gear, detectors, and dredge, they headed for the dock to try. After initial searches fell short, rough weather set in, but on the third day the two got the break they were waiting for. Sure enough, several hours later they spied a silver-colored gleam in the sluicebox. Suzanne's ring was lost no more! "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for returning to me something so precious..." she later wrote to them. The Platts were also honored with a club award for their service. |
