    You may have marked it solved prematurely. I don't believe the one on the left with the pin is a finial. It looks more like a buggy curtain pin (aka: carriage knob) to me.

    Back in the 1800's old farms and rural houses had brick outbuildings, a good distance from the main house, where they had carbide drips to make gas for their house lights. I want to say that it is a piece of that apparatus, but I wouldn't swear to it.

    It looks like the "woman and child" side has much more detail than the other side. It looks kinda like a repurposed livery button.
