  1. ✅ SOLVED A small grooved metal pipe/tube

I found it in my front yard. The house dates to the early 1970s. I did find a 1949 Polish 1 Grosz coin in the same yard for some inexplicable reason!
  2. ✅ SOLVED A small grooved metal pipe/tube

Thank you for a stellar identification of this valve!
  3. ✅ SOLVED A small grooved metal pipe/tube

1 3/8" long and approximately 1/4" in diameter. Has a little metal "rod" attached to a rectangular piece of metal just inside one of the ends. Makes me think it's a hose/pipe/plumbing sort of thing...
  4. Old button?

Thanks for the ideas! It's so weird that I can't find any info about the design. Is it supposed to be an 8 pointed "starburst" or just 8 lines arranged in a circle?
  5. Old button?

It does look a little like a sand dollar, doesn't it? For anyone who doesn't know, my "button" was dug up at a 1910 house site, where I previously have found several relics from the 1910s-20s and, inexplicably, an 1850s State Militia Panel Plate Buckle usually found at Civil War sites!
  6. Old button?

*BUMP* I'm hoping new pictures might result in some new or second opinions. This "button" is exactly 3/4" in diameter. To anyone who replies, thanks!
  7. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Toasted King George III Halfpenny?

That's a pretty cool crusted George! I found my KG? on a beach near a Coast Guard Station on the Eastern Shore of MD, bay side. I'm pretty sure the bust is facing right; one of the strongest remaining details is what I believe to be a hair ribbon loop directly aligned with the "O" in George...
  8. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Toasted King George III Halfpenny?

Thank you for the reply. I did try rubbing olive oil on it and also boiling hot hydrogen peroxide baths, but I'll try out your method as well. While in the middle of replying to you I noticed that I had the wrong pictures in the op. Now everyone should be able to see the "GEOR" at the top of...
  9. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Toasted King George III Halfpenny?

I found this a couple years ago on a MD Eastern Shore beach and never completely identified it. Based on a seemingly right facing bust and the letters "GEOR" It might be a King George III halfpenny of some kind but I can't make out much of anything of the reverse. I'm looking for images of any...
  10. Seven Stone Ring Found - Costume Jewelry Or Real Deal?

I figured this was probably costume jewelry the moment I couldn't find a purity or makers mark on the band. It's still real pretty though! Easily the best costume bling I've detected...
  11. Seven Stone Ring Found - Costume Jewelry Or Real Deal?

Went to a local beach I've detected before. Found some loose change, fishing weights, a Canadian loonie (that's a first for me), and this rather stunning ring. This rings up as a nickel on my Garret Ace 250, so I highly doubt it's silver. Unfortunately it's unmarked; that and the small...
  12. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED White and Blue Porcelain Lid? Any Ideas?

That's a great idea for the ID of this piece, I'm hoping someone might be able to give me their best guess on this lid's age.
  13. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED White and Blue Porcelain Lid? Any Ideas?

Found on the shore of a local creek on the Eastern Shore of MD. I've found numerous dump sites and relics there (mainly bottles) spanning from the turn of the 20th century up through present day trash. Lid is about 3" in diameter with about 2 3/8" diameter inside the interior lid edge.
  14. Buck Glass Company Jar Lid I Found At My Local Creek

That's an awesome way to use them :)
  15. Buck Glass Company Jar Lid I Found At My Local Creek

I went to the creek near my house today to walk the dogs with my dad along the shore. In the past I've found many glass bottles and other dump site relics from the early to mid 20th century at this spot and several others along the creek. Today I found this beauty of a glass jar lid sitting...
