  • River, Just read about your trip to the American river and got to thinking. Where you live are a lot of folks that detect. Try this website. I think you will like it and find some new areas to hunt locally. KINZLICOILS.COM. HH GFP
I am on the West Coast too. What beaches did the ranger say that they will stop letting us detect at? I am So Cal. I drive about 40 minutes to 3 1/2 hours depending on what beach I go to. I also belong to a club called Riverside Treasure Hunters Club. I am sure they need to know too. Get back with me please. Thanks HH GFP
I'll continue to play with the new AT Pro as I have the time to get out. As I do I'll post my finds and my experience with it. I would suggest going to the Garrett webstie(Garrett Metal Detectors: Hobby Division, Security Division and Countermine / ERW Division | Metal Detector Manufacturer) and checking out the videos for the AT Pro there if you haven't already. And of course on Treasurenet hit up the Brands Forum and search through the Garrett specific thread for the AT Pro posts. There's a lot of helpful information in there, a lot of which I used to come to my decision to buy it. If you have any questions you can feel free to contact me. I've only been detecting for about 2 years now, but I'm totally consumed by it and read about it every day. I'll do my best to help you out. Good luck out there!

    -Nate
