Are you open to picking up a friend that likes metal detecting but is way past his prime?

I am on my way Green Cove Springs to visit a friend with Dementia/Alzheimer's. He loves to go MD with me but cannot go out alone. I am coming down because his wife has just had surgery and will be away from home for rehab for a couple of weeks. His name is Bud. We are very close and I am coming down to keep an eye on him while his wife is not at home.

From my viewpoint, it may be a perfect match. Bud is a retired District Superintendent of schools from Michigan. He needs someone with patience, who can relate to him and take him on some small MD outings.

I am from Midland MIchigan, also retired. I am 72 and Bud is about 75 or 76. I have been detecting for about 10 years. Have Whites MXT and Fisher CZ-21 water detector. On this forum I am Lee-MI-MI but have not been active for some time.
