I just posted the harmonica help post. At the same homestead site i found this wooden dow/pin in the top of what i think is the privy. I have to return to dig the possible privy, but did find this wooden piece down about 2 feet.
I'm trying to get a date on this harmonica to help w a local homestead dig. On the left side it says German and then a word underneath that I cant id. The SLQ was found in the area along with an 1888 and 1868 IHP.
I'm not trying to hijack...and unfortunately cannot help solve this mystery, but could this item that I cannot id be a bale seal? Thanks and good luck
