  1. 1907 50 cent piece…

I did a deep woods hunt following a stone wall. It was very quiet most of the time except for the usual bullet shells and lead chunks. I did manage to hit a small hot spot along the way. Got a 1842 Canada bank token and a nice silver 1907 50 cent piece! 😁👍
  2. 74th regiment of foot officer button….

Had the urge to do a hunt today. The rain was terrible and cut the trip short. I almost got skunked until the end when I found a few things. Luckily when I got home to check out the few finds I did manage to get one of the flat buttons was military! 😁👍
  3. Flintlock hammer…

Got a permission close to home in some old woods. Turned out nice with some old coppers and a bucket lister. A old flintlock hammer with the stone still attached. Guess a electrolysis project is in order! 😁👍
  4. Another water hunt…

I tried another lake beach water hunt last evening. I found a few more oldies. Nothing spectacular but still fun. The half cuff link is probably my favourite of the hunt. I can’t tell if it has a image on it or not. Plus the badge thing is a mystery also so far. Now time to research another lake...
  5. Old silver….

Since the lake water levels are way down right now we went for a drive to a lake beach that I found plenty of good old finds before. Some as far back as colonial. I hit the beach area hard before many times and maybe went out about ankle deep max in the wiser. This time I tried around 2-3 feet...
  6. Decorative sterling bracelet…

  7. Big Sterling silver bracelet…

A nice evening and a nice detect. The bugs were out unfortunately but not very bad yet. At the end of the hunt I got a deep super high tone and out came a almost compete sterling silver flower bracelet. I found a complete example online and it’s made by a maker called Danecraft. When I have...
  8. Return to the loaded silver yard….

Well I had a bitter sweet return to the silver yard today. Yes I found more silver like I had hoped but most of it was in the beach under the tide line. It’s crazy how different land coins are from ocean coins. They get beat up bad in the currents plus the salt is hard on them and the condition...
  9. Loaded silver yard…

It’s been a very very long time since I’ve had a nice untouched loaded yard to detect like this afternoon’s. I got a surprise permission and me and a friend only had time to do around a quarter of it. It’s a big nice old property that gently goes down to a beach and once housed a old hotel. My...
  10. buckles, earrings and a old coin…

Messed around again today with the nox 800 when I had a chance from working and found a few keepers. Nothing super spectacular today but the best of the bunch was some old knee buckles, a decent 1861 Nova Scotia one cent and two earrings. Unfortunately the backs let go but I did find one and it...
  11. 1894 Vicky 5 cent….

Decided to whip in quick on my way back to work at a spot that’s been hunted for years. You would be pretty safe to say “it’s hunted out”. I said to myself if I get anything here with the nox 800 then I’ll be truly impressed and have no doubt it’s a great machine. Well here’s the results…
  12. Saved by the sterling…

Tried a new spot today I found but it didn’t pan out to well for how well it looked. I did manage to find two older style Canadian small cents, a flat button and a what looked at first like bent scrap but it had some decorative designs on it stocking through the mud so it went into the keeper...
  13. First nox 800 land digs…

The ground is finally mostly thawed and I went out back to back evenings to some hard hit sites. I wanted to try out the new minelab equinox 800 I got and really put it to the test. I’ve got a lot to learn yet with it but so far I’m very impressed with the results. First trial it got was over...
  14. Victorian 4th kings of own regiment button…

Well I got off work and had just enough daylight to give the yard another go I found the Royal artillery button yesterday. The temperature dropped to -5 and I was in a thin damp hoody but I pushed on. I had some luck with some relics, 2 silver dimes and another military button. This time it was...
  15. Silver and 1812…

Well with a big deep freeze on its way tomorrow I forced myself out in a rainy cold muddy evening to try my luck. It was a bitter sweet hunt. I found my fist silver of the year which is great but it wasn’t very old. Then I found my first old military of the year which a also good but...
  16. Big gold January 1st… again…

Well a crazy thing happened today. Exactly a year ago on January 1st I found a massive man’s gold ring in a old wooded site. Because of that I was joking around for awhile now with people that I need to go this years January 1st to try it again. Not expecting a thing this time let alone another...
  17. My best Skelton key…

I went to a island that produced in the past to give it another go. The soil there always eats old copper coins to basically nothing so you basically have to pray for silver, gold or a solid relic. I did manage my best skeleton key to date and a nice escutcheon with a unusual shaped hole. Thanks...
  18. WWI CEF 51st Edmonton Overseas Battalion Cap Badge

I gave the gold bracelet area another go over. There wasn?t many targets left to dig but I did manage to snag this nice WWI CEF 51st Edmonton overseas battalion cap badge. Its a long way from home. Thanks for looking! 😁👍
  19. 1812 officers 60th regiment of foot button

I was having a bit of trouble posting from my phone but now that I figured I can finally post my nice officer button I recently found. The pics don?t do it justice with how much silver gilt remains. Also a plain British solider 1812 shoulder belt plate and a mystery item made of preserved...
  20. Big gold nugget bracelet

I went out last evening and tried a new location. It turned out great. I got some old large coppers and buttons plus some other stuff. I also got a cool old lead man figure. The highlight of my night was finding a compete unique gold bracelet. It was lost by one of the thin rings broken but even...
