  1. Confederate Buckle

Fantastic find! How it made its way north is a mystery we shall most likely never know. My great great grandfather was a Confederate Private ( 6th Florida Infantry) that was captured at Missionary Ridge in November 1863. He was in several POW camps till he was eventually transported to the...
  2. Lake Mead and Lake Powell

    Thanks, interesting read.
  3. Lake Mead and Lake Powell

I might have missed it somewhere but is there a thread on Lake Mead and/or Lake Powell? I see news on barrels with bodies, slot machines, boats and airplanes.......anything of note from our T'Net brethren? If there is a thread please point me in the right direction. Thanks!
  4. ✅ SOLVED Ashtray? Train related?

That's awesome! Thanks for the excellent research.
  5. ✅ SOLVED Ashtray? Train related?

All right! I wasn't even thinking match safe, but that is looking like a positive ID. Thanks to all!
  6. ✅ SOLVED Ashtray? Train related?

Not dug but found in an old shed with early train/railroad related items. It's hinged and cast meta. Looks like it was mounted or hung on a vertical surface. Patent dates March 12, 1863 - Sep 21, 1869. Ideas on age or origin? Looks to me like an ashtray, but I hate to go assumptions. Thanks!
  7. First US Half Cent -hiding underfoot.

Nice work. As always those with patience and persistence will continue to shine!
  8. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Green brass thingie

Looks similar to part of an early flyweight governor,.....but I could be way off.
  9. ✅ SOLVED Help with old beam

Sure looks like a bridge or trestle bracing. The round end is most likely for a large bolt and washer.
  10. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Some kind of hose attachment? If not what the heck is it?

Reminds me of the outer tune or balance knob on a vintage auto radio. I'm looking for one like it now.
  11. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Button?

Looks like copper, rang up like a copper coin.
  12. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Button?

I should add if it's not obvious, both sides the same.
  13. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Button?

I found this at an old church site. Very thin and slightly concave on one side. It has two holes in the center. Seems like I’ve seen something like this here before. It almost seems too thin to be a button.
  14. 🥇 BANNER Seminole War Fort Awesome Coin

Very nice! Again, hard work and persistence pays off. Just the inspiration I need to get moving!
  15. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Hub cap? I can't seem to find the manufacturer

It's old, I think it's a Studebaker grease hub cover 1919-1921 vintage or close.

  17. Ranch Revisited - 8 Years Later with Equinox 800

Nice work! I'm a believer that those close by detecting spots are some of the best. The more you know an area the more effective you can search it. That iron is great at hiding the good stuff....we've all missed some nice finds because of it. Great job!
  18. 2021' Wrap Up

That's a great year! Nice work, thanks for sharing and inspiring us!
  19. Anyone still use an old Aqua Craft Dive Belt??

If that is the case: Flat rate USPS, I've stuffed almost 70 lbs into a large or medium rate box several times. Best deal for small heavy items and around $15 insured.
