  1. Possible artifact?

That's a great video - thanks for that.
  2. Is this a meteor?

Agree not likely to be a meteorite. The vesicles are the giveaway.
  3. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Military shield?

@Diggin-N-Dumps if you haven't tried it, go to and upload as clear and tight of a picture of that as you can. It often helps me in identifying stuff.
  4. Possible artifact?

@RTR Do you mean something like this? This is an old hand-forged screw I found inside of what appeared to be rock upon first glance....
  5. Possible artifact?

Thanks for the reply. When you say conglomerate, what exactly do you mean? I searched google but couldn't find a good definition as it pertains to metal detecting...
  6. Variety Day but there should be a law!

    The ruler is awesome!
  7. Possible artifact?

Yes, I know that's incredibly vague. I found this yesterday near the Ichetucknee River in Florida. About six inches deep. It's all iron. Heavily attracted to magnetic. It's the shape of it, the depth, the amount of rust, and the fact that it feels lighter than it should -- all those have me...

    Oops . Meant 22 short
  9. ✅ SOLVED Bullet ID Help, Please

Really appreciate that. Didn’t realize a 22 LR load was so light! Sounds like you’re basically saying it’s gonna be pretty hard to tell close to how old it is bc it is so common?
  10. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Window arm adjuster or chimney flue hardware?

If would say window adjuster but @ticndig could absolutely be right.
  11. ✅ SOLVED Bullet ID Help, Please

I found this small round buried about 5- inches deep on some land near my house that's been inhabited since the early 1800's. Extremely light: 1.6 grams/25 grains Width ~.22 inches/5.7 mm Flattened if you look at it from the side Found near another similarly sized bullet (last picture) that...
  12. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED What are these ??identical stones - Stone anomaly or man made?

I can definitely see where you might think they were hand-made. I love rocks and collect them all the time...and have also realized it's easy to "see" patterns when you want to (not saying it's not true with yours). If you really want to know, reach out to a local college's geology department...

  15. ✅ SOLVED Where to begin......

I'd completely forgotten - one of my first posts from three years ago and it looked a LOT like yours! The consensus on mine was melted aluminum as well. I reemember not wanting to believe it because I was SURE i'd found something worth millions ;)
  16. ✅ SOLVED Where to begin......

I was looking up "raw bauxite ore" and came up with this look different to me
  17. Another hand-forged nail, BUT this one is sharp on both ends?

It does. Pretty sure there was an amateur blacksmith living back here way back when, and I find a lot of this unidentifiable "junk." Of course it's all still treasure to me!
  18. ✅ SOLVED Where to begin......

@hollARDog those numbers and that SG lead me to suspect a melted aluminum can from a fire. You find it in the woods somewhere where folks might have been drinking beer around a fire? Check out this picture of a melted can...
  19. ✅ SOLVED Where to begin......

*Might* be slag. IIRC, though, slag generally doesn't leave a streak. Is it relatively heavy/light for its size? On my Ace, I found a lot of aluminum slag when I hit those same numbers. Does it attract a magnet at all? I assume not but just checking. Use that scale and a glass of water to find...
  20. My new Fisher F5 is a monster!

Cool! Keep me posted as well.
