  1. My Boot Pistol

Hey everyone, Been awhile since I posted but with everything going on its hard to keep up. We go out every weekedn but just no extra time to post. Ok, so we were looking for a lost CW camp when Keith and I stubled across an area in the woods with grass. No other grass in the area, just this...
  2. 1920 National Motorcycle Gypsy Tour Watch Fob

Its been a while but Bedford Bob and I were at a house built around the 1880's. We really didn't find a whole lot. My finds of the day were a 1909 wheatie, not pictured. The other is a 1920 National Motorcycle Gypsy Tour Watch Fob. The information that I have gathered so far suggests that these...

I am looking for a Whites TDI and will trade another machine for it. My father-in-law and I are dealers for Minelab, Fisher and Teknetics and will be willing to trade a machine for the TDI. We can negotiate what machine we will trade. Email me. You can check our website...
  4. Virginia CW Relics

Well, we made a day of it and had 10 hours of solid hunting. We hit several places down at this farm site and had some good results. I found 5 bullets (one 3 ringer, and four 2 ringers), 3 flat buttons, 1 cuff button, 2 spencer cartridges, thimble, piece of costume jewelery, iron buckle, Fatty...
  5. Good Variety of Buttons, and a Surprise Find!!

Well we hit two sites and I managed a variety of buttons. Flats, pewter, tombac, 2 piece, and ball. The pewter button has a nice design on it, could not see it in the field at all. The surprise find, I'll let you figure it out .
  6. Birthday Hunt....Continued. UPDATED!!!

Well today is my birthday and I turned 24. Unfortunatly I had to hunt alone today, but I was rewarded with 2 buttons and an 1898 IH. The flat button has an eagle on the back of it. I also posted a previous hunt that I didn't have time to post. On that hunt I got a 1775 KG III and a very tiny...
  7. Brought a Buffalo, Two Clowns and Two Presidents out of Hiding

Well, we hit a new place and as you can tell had some interesting results. Finds include a 1920 Buffalo nickle in good shape, a 1952 wheatie, a James Madison presidential token, 2 "No Cash Value" coins, half a glass insulator, a cast Jeep, and a odd round ball of metal, to light to be iron and...
  8. Big Lead Square Nail??? Any Ideas???

Well, back again to the Red Brick house, and this is the first weekend that neither my father-in-law or I got a large cent from the place. I did manage to scrape up a couple of little finds. 2 Flat buttons, some more modern pants buttons and what not. A small piece of fired lead. An iron...
  9. Our honey hole and two firsts, including a WELLINGTON button!

Well, we went back again and scored again. I got another 1797 in terrible shape. The back is completely flat and the front is not to much better. The 1st first, lol, would be the Spanish 1/2 Reale. It is completely flat on the front and the back has some minor details on the right side of the...
  10. More Largies, 1817 and 1818

Well we went back and scanned the same area in a different direction and we had some great results. The iron infested ground actually hides the largies, so we are just getting the slightest blip of a good target and we dig. We did get fooled by a couple of square nails, but you can't argue with...
  11. 1812 LC, 1803 HC, and 1775 KG

Well my father-in-law and I went out for father's day to the same place as yesterday. We met a friend who we have hunted with in the past. We had another spectacular day ;D. Bedford Bob got another largie. I got an 1812 Largie, 1803 Half Cent and a 1775 KG. I also got two thimbles, a plain flat...
  12. Two More Largies

Well, we went back to the same place again and the E-Tracs sniffed out even more largies from the iron infested yard. Between the two of us we claimed 5 largies today. Bedford Bob got 3 and I got 2. That brings the site total up to 8, 4 for both of us :headbang:. My largies are 1807 and 1797...
  13. Two Large Cents and a Tooth?

We went back to the same property and worked another section of the yard and it yielded fantastic results for me. For iron I got a nice single tree, half a horse bit, a iron buckle and a stirrup ??? Two mystery pieces- The one is broken and made out of pewter. The one with the ring is...
  14. New Site Offers a Lot of Goodies

Been awhile since I posted, haven't really gotten much of late, but this hunt was much better. I was able to get us person at a property that we have been looking at for awhile. It took us so long because everytime we went to ask no one was ever home. I got lucky though and was able to score a...
  15. Lost, Found, Lost Again, Found Again- 1738 KGII

Well, we went back with Mach 1 & 2 and another visitor who is getting interested in metal detecting. I had only one good find today. A 1738 KGII. I found it by the barn on the property in a real trashy spot. It was 7 inches down and tilted almost completly on edge. The ground was worked so it...
  16. I found a differnt kind of cache

This weekend we visited 3 different sites in 2 days. All we have hunted before but went for a revisit. The cache I am referring to is the six silver plated sleigh bells I found in the same hole. All between 8-10 inches down, and at the very bottom of the hole was the iron buckle that was on...
  17. Almost Skunked... Odd Pewter Button and Musketball

Well as you can tell from the title we didn't find much. The owner was not present, but we have had the previous ok to hunt his property, but its been about a year so we stayed out of his yard and went into the field. There is lots of junk and iron in the field, but this is the same field that...
  18. Yanks in Northern Virginia

Hi all, as you have read from Mach 1 Pilot we all made a trip down to Northern Virginia for a hunt. At first the day was pretty busted, then everything kicked in gear and we started getting some good stuff. I got two 3 ringers: one shot and one dropped, spencer cartridge, part of a metal horse...
  19. 2nd Hunt of the Year- 1867 Shield Nickel

Well my father-in-law and I got out for only the second time this year. We went to one of our usual haunts as Mach 1 Pilot was working this weekend. We have pounded this area with all sorts of machines, but not the E-tracs. There is so much iron and trash in this area that it is unreal. But the...
  20. First Hunt of 2010, Semi-Key Indian

Well we got out today with Mach 1 Pilot and hit the usual place. It is still producing. I got a piece of broken Crotal Bell, a 176? or a 178? King George (other than that, it is toasted), and an 1867 IH. Happy Hunting!
