A few weeks ago I found a porcelain doll leg while I was bottle digging on my family's homestead. I thought "huh neat" and into the oddball basket it went.. Yesterday I took my boys to the beach below the high bank That I dig for bottles and there creepily staring up at me from the sand, about 8...

that's awesome man! Giothegreek and I found one last summer and it was almost completely destroyed. That is in relatively great shape! They were only minted in 1843 and 1854. Just those two years. It is actually a pretty rare coin! Congrats on the find, every "Maritimer detectorist" should have...

I thought that as well for a minute, until I noticed the top has a hinged cap, and the plated neck is too narrow to remove anything but a liquid.. which lead me to the perfume idea.
  10. Perfume Bottle Chain?

Hey guys! I got to poking around my usual spot on my family's land and got a decent hit in the water a foot or two off shore. I started using my foot to stir the water to remove the top silt. I got pretty damn excited to see bright shiny silver glinting back at me! I thought I found silver...
  11. New Brunswick in the house...

Great finds BarnNB! I was told recently by an older gent on the Peninsula that in the 70s and 80s they used to find surface finds all over the shores in Summerville down to Kenebecasis Island area. Knowing the surface changes every year, that's still my target area being a local.
  12. Paleoindian Lanceolate Biface.

Dr Black at the University of NB held the stone for a few years and that was his hypothesis. As it is an isolated find its near impossible to date it. It does have some of the features of a solutrean biface, but no two anthropologists can agree if there was a migration from europe to eastern NA...

  19. Amazing little silver spoon

I have not used a loop, I have looked closely though. I rinsed it with soap and water but did not even use a cloth so inside is still pretty dirty. Do you think it's possible the mark is inside edge of the handle? I would love to see your spoon! Post it up!
  20. Amazing little silver spoon

Thank you Tn! I thought it was delicate when It first fell out of the bank, but it really is a sturdy little spoon. It came from the edge of the bottle pit I have been excavating this year. maybe 18 inches behind and below this 1880s bottle. I imagine it spent some time in a Jar , and is...
