Great finds and good repair job on the plate. The piece you've matched it up with definitely isn't a match as the round portion is actually an ear boss I believe.
Thanks very much. Very cool jewelry! I saw a Native guy selling earrings in the shape of a feather made of mammoth tusk. Prior to having this piece I didn’t realize that the tusk was in layers like that. I always assumed it was a solid piece for some reason. Thanks for sharing.

Not that I'm interested in getting involved in any argument...but I will. Unfortunately that's not the way it works with provenance. Provenance needs to be proven...not unproven. Regardless, it's a fantastic find and should be on the banner.
