  2. ✅ SOLVED Early 19th c. Accessory?

I found this guy on a dig yesterday. By the markings "Alfred Benjamin & Co.," "New York," and "1879." I was able to determine that it is a clothing accessory from a clothier in New York (dug in VA) around the first decade of the 20th C. Two questions... What is it, and secondly, everything I...

  13. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED It's a circle... that's all I got.

Dug this about a foot deep today. It hit low 80s on my ATX Pro (just below silver). Besides being a doughnut, it has one small 1/8" inch spike on one side. Best I can figure is some kind of horse tack, but any other idea or suggestions would be appreciated!
  14. My First Mercury

Hit my first Mercury Dime today! I've never had a ton of luck with coins but landed on this guy about 1" deep. First good digging rush in a while.
  15. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED What was this structure?

The creek isn't very substantial, but I have found a few scattered items up and down it. No coins yet, but I'm still holding out hope. The periodic digging overtime is exactly what I'm doing. I've been grinding away at it for a few years now, but just recently stopped to wonder what kind of...
  16. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED What was this structure?

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the thought.
  17. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED What was this structure?

    Most are 2-6" deep.
  18. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED What was this structure?

Yes, I remember you're close. The discrimination still clips the nails causing all kinds of chatter.
  19. 1817 large cent

    Congrats on that find!
  20. 🔎 UNIDENTIFIED What was this structure?

Thank you! There is a creek that runs about 75 yards behind it. Detecting the area immediately around it is next to impossible b/c of the amount of nails scattered around. I have done some digging and sifting, but have a had limited success. Mostly broken glass, broken plateware, and of course...
