  4. ✅ SOLVED Button or Rivet?

This was found with my Equinox 800 along the Oregon Coast in a cove I've been exploring. It is about 7mm in diameter, and not ferrous. Initially I thought it was a rivet. Thanks for any help!
  5. Ship, Gold Coins found at Destin, Fla - from July 22, 1968 Newspaper Article

Interesting read. I lived in that area while working for the government from mid 80s to late 90s. I was always curious about what artifacts could be found around the bay and in the sound between the island and mainland. Billy Bowlegs festivals were always fun, and the history of that pirate in...
  6. Fossil

Good trilobite find. I found some in shale northern Utah about 10 years ago. Congrats!
  7. More nails and spikes

I'm not sure what to make of all of these nails and spikes that we've been finding along our Oregon rocky coast. They are being found in the same rocky cove, which consists of a narrow pass beyond an uplifted formation near the plate boundary (Juan de Fuca). I can imagine if this material is...
  8. More spikes and nails

I'm not sure what to make of all of these ferrous nails and spikes that we've been finding along our Oregon rocky coast. They are being found in the same rocky cove, which consists of a narrow pass beyond an uplifted formation near the plate boundary (Juan de Fuca). I can imagine if this...
  9. Ring Found

Red-Coat, the only stamp I can find is the 925 (92.5% silver) on the inside. I did find an identical ring on Etsy for sale that was marketing it as "rare" and the last one in stock. However, there was no history on the manufacturer, date, etc. Thanks again..
  10. Ring Found

    Red-Coat, Thanks for the info!!
  11. Ring Found

Hello all! This is an exciting day because it is my first ring discovery. Found it along the Oregon coast inside a rocky cove with a small sandy beach area at about 18" deep beneath a rock. It looks old, but who knows these days with all the retro items out there. It's metal, but not ferrous...
  12. What is the sap like substance oozing

The last time I saw something oozing out of an object that size was on a former bombing range in Arizona. The UXO guys came out and blew it in place. Good luck!
  13. ✅ SOLVED Is this a Lincoln penny or not?

    Thanks for your quick response!
  14. ✅ SOLVED Is this a Lincoln penny or not?

Found this last week along the Oregon coast with some pennies and dimes. At first I didn't give it much thought as it looked like another penny. On closer inspection, and using a magnifying glass, the bust "seems" different from Lincoln, has a broader head and slightly angled differently (you...

  17. ✅ SOLVED Oregon Coast Items

Hello all. Found these two items in about 1 ft of soil up on a bluff overlooking the coast. Both are ferromagnetic and heavy. 1. The stake is 11.5” in length and 1” diam on one end and 1/2” diam on the other end. There is a groove all the way around the perimeter of the stake about 3.25” from...
  18. Need help identifying!

Pepperj, it looks basically the same with the exception of the plate/marking.
  19. Need help identifying!

I was thinking that but wouldn't there be holes?
  20. Need help identifying!

I found this piece of iron or steel along the same cove on the Oregon coastline. Found it with a Equinox 800. Finding lots of metal there, large and small pieces, lots of old nails and spikes, possibly a few old clumped coins (it's a stretch), but this one has some markings that one of you may...
