  1. Some Alaskan Gold in a sluicebox

And if anyone is interested, email me for details. I just got hold of a TD-9 and a small excavator, which will mate well with my 25yd/screening plant. I may also sell an interest in the mine.
  2. strange rock found while detecting has soft metal

Graphite, perhaps. Do a streak test on it.
  3. Some Alaskan Gold in a sluicebox

In the Dutch Hills, about 45 miles NW of Talkeetna.
  4. Some Alaskan Gold in a sluicebox

Thanks, Which ones, I'll check it out and fix it. I'm still migrating stuff from my other sites, and uploading images and pages.
  5. Does anyone actually have a hardrock claim they are mining?

Still developing it, stopped for a few years because of the low gold price. See The Blue Ribbon Mine at http://www.alaskafreegold.com Also see the pics I've posted in other threads. We've done pilot-plant testing so far, and the results are more than encouraging.
  6. WHERE CAN I FIND GOLD AND SILVER ORE PICTURES?

I've had several websites, and some sites ripped the pic off (I sent them a letter), also I have allowed some sites to use the images, such as wikipedia. Here's another pic of some gold-bearing ore, not the best one (I have many more I'll be posting to my site shortly, and some will have to...
  7. Some Alaskan Gold in a sluicebox

I plan on opening up about 600 acres of my claims this summer to people who want to dredge or sluice their own (if there's enough interest). That way, people will have the opportunity to get their own gold, and it's accessable by road from the Petersville Road.
  8. Some Alaskan Gold in a sluicebox

Nice. Here's a few nice pieces from my mine
  9. Some Alaskan Gold in a sluicebox

Glad you enjoy it. Here's about 10 ounces in a pan, same area (notice some of the gold is quite rusty, also that it's coarse and not water-worn):
  10. Some Alaskan Gold in a sluicebox

Here's a pic of some Alaskan Gold from the Blue Ribbon Mine I thought I'd share (not the gold, you'll have to sluice your own). Also, I'll post pics of a trommel (70 yd/hr) that I built using, among other things, a piece of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, or just go to http://www.alaskafreegold.com...
  11. WHERE CAN I FIND GOLD AND SILVER ORE PICTURES?

Could have been 1999, I'd have to check my notes. Here's another on of a structure I found nearby (the rock hammer is for scale):
  12. WHERE CAN I FIND GOLD AND SILVER ORE PICTURES?

Sortof. It's a section of 700' by 300' (open at depth) of veins assaying .3 to 37 oz/ton (free milling gold). The previous owners recovered about 30,000 ounces from the upper 1', and I have found some very nice nuggets from it as well. Part of a shear zone I traced for over 8 miles. And I found...
  13. WHERE CAN I FIND GOLD AND SILVER ORE PICTURES?

Here's a pic of some high-grade gold-bearing quartz veins in a shear zone I discovered I'll be posting more pics at http://www.alaskafreegold.com
  14. Im forming a group in Alaska, requesting input, suggestions, etc.

Re: I'm forming a group in Alaska, requesting input, suggestions, etc. One area for certain is in the Cache Creek/Dutch Hills area west of the Petersville State Recreation Area. It has road access, which is a big plus.
  15. Lost Gold at an Alaskan Mine in 1939, maybe thousands of ounces

I have found quite a lot, just not the buried treasure. And not by seance. But it WAS a naked moonlight seance with 2 beautiful young women, so I still count that as a win.
  16. Lost Gold at an Alaskan Mine in 1939, maybe thousands of ounces

Thanks, I have some ideas, but metal detecting is very difficult due to all the other metals, hot rocks, nuggets, etc. I even participated in a seance.
  17. Lost Gold at an Alaskan Mine in 1939, maybe thousands of ounces

The gold wouldn't have been laying around, just as the 420 ounces was stashed. They wouldn't have had time to look for it, assuming it was more than 1 person, because the 4 people were killed on the same day miles apart in very rugged terrain, and were ambushed. The posse began searching soon...

Here's some Alaska and Canada Mining News: http://alaskafreegold.blogspot.com/
  19. Lost Gold at an Alaskan Mine in 1939, maybe thousands of ounces

There is the 420 ounces hidden in the woodpile, and the fact that they had not left the mine after the season. Further, it is known that they didn't trust banks, and also had previously recovered thousands of ounces from the "Potato Patch". And, the gold that was found in the woodpile was all...
  20. alaska pay to mine

We're planning to open up a lot of ground this summer, still getting everything together but that's the best time to get in on something. Easy access, some large (up to 4 ounce) nuggets, etc. The link is here http://groups.google.com/group/pay2mine?hl=en&lnk=srg
