  3. How does one acquire a Treasure Coast lease and what is the typical cost?

Yes, besides the $2000 and a fully rigged boat, the state takes 20 percent, then you split what is left with Queens Jewels. Of anything you find.
  4. How does one acquire a Treasure Coast lease and what is the typical cost?

The start time is right now every year. End of May early June. Subcontractors pay $2000 per boat, boat must have blowers, and use yellow polypropylene anchor lines on all 3 anchors. Daily logs are sent in electronically monthly, by the end of the month. Everything is written down. Finds are...

  8. Lead sheathing, spikes and a strange fossil/ petrified object that responds like iron

I have no idea. Maybe contact Garrett. I know they are still in production. I see older Garrett UW detectors on EBay occasionally. Sometimes for parts. Good luck.
  9. Passing the torch

Very cool! Lots of good memories! I am sure he loves it.
  10. Lead sheathing, spikes and a strange fossil/ petrified object that responds like iron

Aqua pulse are probably one of the most used UW sectors on the wrecks here. It is a non motion detector, which most PI are a motion detector. Many like that. They are very water proof. But the technology is many years old. They are not hot on modern gold jewelry or alloys. A good way to...
  11. Lead sheathing, spikes and a strange fossil/ petrified object that responds like iron

That piece you found is rust. An Aquapulse will not pick up rust. As a Garrett Seahunter won’t either. That is an alloy, or a form of metal, that slow PI detectors cannot pick up. If you used a newer type PI , faster pulse rate, you would be able to pick that up. That is why those 2 are not...

  14. Nice day in Bradenton

  16. Ship Bell Found

Being bronze he could have conserved it himself. Cleaned it up. But, I am sure they will clean it nicely.
  17. What is about the max length for a total shaft length?

I have several carbon fiber and fiberglass tubings 3/4” ID about 54” Long. About 6” longer than an Anderson upper shaft with a lower shaft out 12”. About 18” inches or so longer than the Anderson carbon fiber upper shaft. I was wondering if I made one with the lower rod in one of these shafts...
  18. large coil PI detectors

I really important thing about a real big PI coil is, that to test it out you need to be far away from any big power lines. The big coil is like a big antenna dish. Can pick up pulses from a long way away. Will make a lot of quaking noises. And lower your detection ranges. Regular house is...
  19. large coil PI detectors

I have a PI coil that is 48” x 48”. It will go very deep on big metal objects. Through the air 35’ on a car. 25’ on a metal garbage can. Air on a beer can 8’. In saltwater about 12’. When I use it in the water I tow it about 12’ plus off the bottom, just to not get beer cans. It will not...
  20. Finds

It looks like it has remnants of gold plating. Might be copper or brass? Not corroded like zinc does. I have found chains and braclets that were some kind of copper alloy with gold plating. Hard to say without sctually looking at it. Maybe stainless steel? But too dark. Maybe silver?
