Sorry I'm late to the party in offering my congrats on your recovery of Roman gold. God, that coin is stunning! Congrats on making banner. Now, go get another!
Well-deserved congrats on an epic recovery. Lots of wonderful detail, which can be hard to get in those small two-pence coins. Beautiful condition with lots of eye appeal. I'm sure you'll remember the experience for many, many years. Simply the Best! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:
Paleomaxx - I've never seen a better looking dug belt plate -ever, ever. Congrats on a killer belt plate and making banner. The contrast of gold gilt and patina is eye-popping. Yes, I have to say your already well on the board for 2022. It's not often that a detectorist can say with...

I wanted to post a photo for your thread to go along with my reply, so this is a bit delayed. I'm often looking at recoveries for any significance that may not be so apparent. Certainly, I could be way off the mark with this observation, but what's the harm? Sorry for cropping one...
Paleomaxx: An excellent range of finds offering both quantity and quality. The narrative of your hunting adventure was written so well I felt that I was along for the trip. Certainly, the USA button is the best in the lot and one incredible last find before ending your hunt. The shape of all...
Iโm looking for a bit of help. A detectorist posted the coin pictured below on a coin collectorโs forum to obtain an ID back in April. The coin is called a khamsiya, minted in Yemen back in 1694-1695. The person posted the coin after reading a widely-covered story on the connection of these...
Very hard to to find US silver that early, and it's all the more difficult to find such age in a quarter denomination. Simple a fantastic find. Congrats. Banner!:notworthy::hello2::headbang:
I'm looking forward to hearing more about the ID on this wonderful find. I have no expertise on this subject matter, but it would seem that the orientation of the design would be used for some type of cross belt. The use of the piece as some decorative plate for a trunk would run the design...
It's a long-vanished house site located farmland, which is subject to occasional cultivation. I wish the whole area was worked more often, as there's more to be found without any doubt. An 18th century map showed the house site, which was further defined using Google Maps.
Paleomaxx - A big congrats on finding such an epic piece of 17th century history! :notworthy::hello2::headbang: It remains amazing to me that Native American craftsmen could could recast English pewter buttons, utensils, and other objects into functional tobacco pipes. I assume that these...
I wasn't sure on the banner vote system as well, but I read up on the details. It's real simple. Simply click on arrow in the green box that appears with the OP's finds at the start of the thread. The count goes up. The higher it goes, the more likely the find makes banner. I'm vote number...
