  4. ✅ SOLVED 1762 Spanish Coat Button

    They are called fascimile buttons and are colonial, they usually date to the mid-1700s. They were meant to look like Spanish coins in use during the era. Great finds!

    Thanks so much guys. The buckle was no more than 2” deep and it was a funky signal, I really wasn’t expecting much with it and I’m super lucky I didn’t clip it with my shovel!

    It is so worth pulling the trash out. With that type of find I would be expecting some nice coinage and other colonial artifacts.
