  2. Fossil... but of what?

Found this in a wash here in SE Arizona a while back.  Anyone have a clue what it is? I know it's a fossil, but of what? It has a cross section shape of a bean. Kinda "C" shaped. Notice in the second picture how it indents in the mouth of the "C" shape. It kinda reminds me of a spine, but I...
  3. Repoduction Pottery

Anyone know a good web site that explains how to reproduce indian pottery? ...so there I was, just sitting around thinking about all the really cool pieces of pottery I have. Then as if by an act of God, the better half, who happens to be in a free thinking pottery class at the college asks -...
  4. Pics of my Collection

Many have asked for pictures.  It has taken me a while to take some, but since I am home alone today and nobody can gripe about what's on the table.... If anyone has a question about anything you see let me know.  Also, if anyone sees anything rare or unusual that I should know about, let me...

Sadly, the head is broken off. :( :( :(
  6. Native or slave?

What do you guys think? This was found in a cliff shelter overlooking the Tennessee River near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Is this slave art, or native art? It looks slave to me, however it was found with some for sure indian things.
  7. Clovis pics as promised for Badandy

Well, I am back from the vacation.  Brought back the indian artifact collection.  That took ten plastic boxes the size of shoe boxes... ok... only eight, one has coins and the other has my finds from my vacation.  LOL This is the point I was telling Badandy about. PERFECTLY knapped, almost...
  8. Finds from the past week.

This is not my area of expertise, so any info you have would be cool. This seems to be about all there is to find in AZ. Not much Civil War action out here! LOL The two in the center were found at the same camp site.
  9. Snake.

This is a FULL GROWN snake. Can anyone ID it? This is a trick question, I already know what it is because I caught one last spring and spent all day trying to ID it. It's one of those most people will never get to see and I have been honored enough to get two in ten months. :D :D :D
  10. Douglas Bottle Works

I am not a big bottle collector and don't know much about them. I found an older bottle about a 10oz size. There are no markings on the bottom. It's light green with a very cloudy finish due to fifty plus years of desert sand blasting. Straight sides, and used a press-on type cap. Pretty sure...

  12. Any experts here?

I have found about sixty of these and have my theory, but wanted to get expert opinions.? They are found in southeast Arizona.? Some are in the shade of hugh rocks, some are in the middle of a wash, some on the sides of a wash.? They are basically all exactly the same and cover a small valley...
  13. MD hard-case Idea.

Might try a used hard case for a guitar. Take the machine apart at the slip joint and fold it in half. You can make a compartment in the remaining part of the neck for your batteries, digger, gloves and what-not. Use high density foam to create a snug environment for the machine. And because it...
  14. Project + Indians + GOLD!!!

So, while out taking care of business today, I ran into a rancher who owns a spot that I had a hunch about due to some research last week.? I read that a cargo train route (wagon train for cargo, not passengers) ran through a gap and by a spring where there was a watering hole and a station by...
  15. ROCKETS!!!

How'd you like to find these?? My dad dug these in 1977.? They were taken when he called the DOD and asked how to disarm them.? They said they would be glad to do it.? They showed up at the house a day or two later and they disarmed them... then took the rockets with them.? All we have are...
  16. How long?

I was looking through a photo album and found a picture that I didn't know existed. It is a photo of me and my first detector and some finds. So I did the math and realized that I have been at this for 28 years now. I was three when this picture was taken. :)
  17. Dig Em Small

Dig 'Em Small This is me and my first detector... a Mustang! It was 1977 and I was three. I guess that means I have been at this for about 28 years now! Notice the "finds" down by the coil? Could they have been plants by my dad?!?!?! Nahhhh.... ;D ;D ;D Thats is a 12x24 inch framing square...
  18. Whites Hunters...

Which do you think is better, 6000 DI Series II, or the Classic ID? Also, what are the differences between the Series II and the Series III? Looking at some used detectors for a gift.
  19. IDIOT...spelled DigEmAll

Anyone every went hunting and forgot to grab the batteries out of the charger?? >:( Went to the Prospectors Cabin and since I have been there a lot I didn't carry my GPS.? I also didn't carry my extra detector batteries because ever since I changed over to the rechargables I haven't ever needed...
  20. $100.00 Detector?

Ok, long story short. I know the upper/mid range detectors pretty well, but lack knowledge of the lower end of the scale. My sister has decided that she wants a detector of Christmas. I don't think that she is going to ever be a hardcore hunter, therefore I am going to get her the best $100.00...
