They are from my dad's collection, he is downsizing. He said do something with them, identify, learn.
I don't know what particular kind of agate it is. Blood....etc.

I found considerable carnelian in New Mexico. Smaller pieces than yours but cutting quality. One of my favorite stones. Very historical.

As far as agate is concerned, carnelian is relatively common throughout the Willamette River drainage. I bought a collection from an older couple years ago. About 3000 lbs of carnelian from creeks near Cottage Grove. Find some whenever I fish the local gravel bar near Harrisburg.

If your really looking for a name, I would go with orange Quartz or Chalcedony. If you know where it was found maybe you can find a reference a more specific name. Here is a link to probably the best Quartz info page that I am aware of.
