This coin baffled me i had to go to truck and get my glasses i thought i knew all the US coins until i dug this one. 20201128_144707_2.jpg 20201128_144718_2.jpg
Its a 1938 5 centavos from the phillipines that say's United States of America on it. Wow!
I had to google this one to figure it out.

The next coin was a little easier 20201205_171449.jpg 20201205_171458.jpg
A 1951D Franklin half dollar which is my first franklin and second silver half of the year the first was a 1892 Barber. So over all a good day and probably my last hunt of 2020 as the ground here in Minnesota is getting pretty hard. Last pic is a 1929 wheat leaf penny and a pocket knife. 20201209_121838.jpg

Nice coin from the Phillipines. My Dad fought there in WWII and I,ve always been interested in the islands.I was sent there when I was on Okinawa for Jungle survival training and was able to visit Tacloban where he helped build the airstrip there.Again, nice find, pretty rare I,d think.

Awesome! Nothing left at the one-roomers around here, they’ve been pounded since the 70’s.
That is, unless you’re lucky enough to find what I’ve called ‘the invisible school house’.
Ive had luck at those.

Congrats on some nice coins. I have found the 10 and 50 Centavos coins, but not the 1 or 5, and believe it or not, I'm still looking for my first Benny.

Congrats! I have only seen a couple of those US/Philippines coins posted on here... never found one though.

Same, I only started seriously detecting in Spring 2019 and most of the schoolhouses I've tried have obviously been hit HARD. I got lucky at the last one though, my uncle and I together have found a barber half, 3 barber dimes, 2c piece, and a bunch of other stuff. Just waiting for it to be plowed at this point.

I believe this 5 centavos coin is nickel copper alloy and not silver. It's not a one cent coin as Eric states. I dug a silver 10 centavos one back in the 80's and still have it.
The Ben is sweet! Grats on a great hunt and cool keepers.
