14kt Gold pocket watch at Sunday sale.

Hello friends, thanks in advance to all for your time and help. I bought this pocket watch earlier today at a garage sale. It is 14kt gold, but it is very odd to me that the movement is not marked. The only markings I see are on the inside of the back cover. It has 14kt, and a stamp of what apears to be a squirrel or a Lama (that's what they look to me). Aside from that it has a serial number further down on the case. The little hanging piece does not appear to be gold. Where the crown goes, there are two markings but I can't make them out. Please let me your comments and opinion if possible. Thank you.

P.S. The owner told me that his great grandfather worked in the railroads in England before coming to America in the early 1900s. Thanks.

Cool watch! Looks like a Swiss 14k Squirrel mark. That's about all I know.

Those are often called a Swiss Bar Movement watches, which are pretty common They can be cased in anything from german silver with niello designs or a solid alloy silver to solid gold. I think that little squirrel is a swiss hallmark for 585% or 14k solid gold. They would also have a verity of dial types and designs added to these common swiss movement pocket watches. I believe a local jewelrer would assemble it by what the customer would request from parts the jeweler would either have in inventory or could order. The majority of the value of this watch is mostly in the gold I believe with additional value in the condition of the watch, which looks rather nice and not beat up. I have over the years seen just, these Swiss bar movements with dials in all kinds of condition from maybe it would run to beat to hell missing the case, which tells me they've been cannipalized for the gold or silver, which I would not do to this one. How much did you pay for this watch.?

Looks like a generic Swiss finger bridge movement.
