I cant even begin to express how happy I am to have saved this coin. It was obviously a huge bucket lister for me, as it is for a lot of people, but to be able to find one in such good condition is just unbelievable. Not only is there so much history behind these coins but they also happen to be one of my favorite designs! All I can say is thank God for sandy soil!

That is probably the nicest example I have seen posted here. You sure know how to find good stuff daily.
My posts the past week have been some highlights as I’m new to posting here(which is why some were removed lol) this was fairly recent though!

I did a little research and it looks like yours is what’s called a pointed rays coin as apposed to others that are blunt rays.

There are coins that were minted a year ago and aren't in that kind of shape- looks like it was dropped literally within minutes of being acquired- a significant and simply stunning find!

Yeah the pointed rays are a little more valuable as well but I don’t sell my finds, but this year is my favorite design with the pointed rays and the script US on the reverse!

Holy crapola! That is in spectacular condition - both sides! That coin is high on my Bucket List. I know two friends that have found them in SW PA, so there is still hope for me.
Keep on swinging they’re out there! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

Thank you so much! It’s by far my nicest condition copper I’ve dug, I’m lucky it was such an important one!
