1800s flat button find today needs an ID

I found this flat button today and need an ID.
I think it says DOUBLE on it but there are other letters that may be worn off.
Any ideas?

Yeap GILT, then seems to be NO. ? (not sure what thats about)
Circa 1820-30s.
