I found this large cent today in a wooded area that was a field 90years ago. I think it's a N-7? Does anyone here know? :icon_scratch:

Cannonball,

Unfortunately I can’t help you determine if it is a N-7 but I can say say what a hell of a find - the details are fantastic on the coin. Your soil is definitely forgiving. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

I do not think it is a N.7 but will look and let you know shortly, however, the bleeding stars are known as flowlines, happens, not sure how often but it is a known feature. Looks like a N.10, which is known to have those flowlines.

Incredible beauty. What a great find. I know the least of all of us, but is that doubling on the nose, lips and chin?

I just got a confirmed ID: It's a 1817 Newcomb 10, R-1, Late Die State (That makes the Funny Looking Stars). Now, I must try to find an R-6!:cross:
