Dug only my second capped bust dime, this one is an 1820 Capped Bust Dime (cleaned only with distilled water). Also dug an early bone button and KGIII Hibernia.

Yes, the scratches bring the grade down for sure. It also has environmental damage. I have submitted a number of dug coins to NGC that were in much better condition than this one. Almost all of them came back marked "environmental damage." It is very rare to dig a coin that is gradable.

In the video you digging away dirt in a systematic way.
Was that because of the depth and they were out of the detecting range?
