I dug this beauty today at a former homesite. It is an 1820 Capped Bust dime, possibly the “StatesOf” America version. I missed this coin on previous searches, but found it today going slow with a small coil. It seems to have little wear, so it must not have been in circulation too long. This is now my oldest U.S. silver coin. Also found 10 buttons, several of which are marked “Imperial Standard.” Thanks and good luck out there!

What a fantastic coin! Those capped busts don't show up very often ( if at all). Congrats on your oldest silver US coin.

Thanks! You are right, these coins don’t turn up often. Maybe it was good karma, as I had just complimented tnt-hunter on the very nice 1829 capped bust dime he posted. Good luck - they are still out there.
