1842?? Maine Dog Tax Tag

I found this at a permission in Yarmouth Maine in the backyard of a house that was “officially” built in 1813 and owned by a very prominent family. A couple coins found here date almost 100 years earlier than 1813. I will be doing additional research on this tag to find out if records were kept that far back to hopefully make this official. Was too good to not share.
