1853 quater

I went pack to one of my favorite places. Old camping grounds.
on lake Champlain,
It has been picked over. Found 1853 Quarter in clay lake bed.

My oldest Seated Quarter is also 1853, but yours is in much better shape!! Congrats on a nice looking quarter, even if its blackened!!

An old quarter like that, is what gets the old treasure hunting blood pumping.
Make sure there is nothing left in that hole.
Then go back over the entire area.

That's a great find, and one of me favorite years for coinage. If I'm not mistaken, the rays on the reverse are unique to 1853.
