Hello! I didn't get up in time to take the roasd trip with Ron & Richard today ~ so I stayed in town and got in a couple hours of detecting before the sun set. I dug some clad and seven wheats cents dating from 1921 to 1953 ~ no silver coins ~ the best thing of the day was a 1940 Radio Orphan Annie decoder badge. It's in pretty rough shape ~ but still a cool find.

Thanks for looking!
Neil

PS ~ I posted pic's of what the decoder looks like when it was new.

Nice! I had to buy all of my orphan annie decoders. The 1940 is worth $100 in good condition. Those are really rare! They only pop up on ebay every so often.

"Leapin' lizards!" as Annie used to say.

That's the Speed-O-Matic brass decoder badge, last of the all-metal Radio Orphan Annie decoders.

When WWII began, they switched over to paper ones.
