Metal detecting my old elementary school today. I've done it at least 5 times, but never found any silver coins, until now! Got a 92 signal that was mixed in with a lot of 60's signals. Dug down around 6 inches and pulled out a nice 1951 Washington quarter! My first silver quarter in over 15 months.

Managed another good find about an hour later. Got a low 70's signal and dug up a toy car. I could tell right away it was a Tootsietoy car. My first in over 5 years of metal detecting! It's a Triumph TR-3 and in pretty good shape. Not much paint left, but at least all 4 wheels are still on it. I believe it was only issued from 1963 to 1969, so it's at least 49 years old. Good day today!

Thanks, guys! Nice to find something good at my old school. Mostly good memories at that school. Life was so simple back then...

I used to have a lot of Matchbox cars, but I think the Tootsietoys were a little before my time. Don't remember ever seeing them as a kid.
