They're always a rush, especially the first few! Wait until you hit silver, you'll be cheering aloud for all to hear, I know I was and still do, silver and Indian Heads :) Congrats and welcome to a new addiction!

Great find on the wheatie. WHERE THERE ARE WHEATIES THERE IS SILVER! Location is everything, but if you are finding old wheaties you are in the right location. Slow down the swing speed and listen for the deep coins. Finding old coins is location and persistence. If you put your time in they will come. Also a little luck never hurts!

They would have to be.....anything newer than 1958 and it wouldn't be a wheatie! :laughing7:

I just started to get into MD'ing this past year (but have wanted to for a very long time!) I've logged maybe 20 hours with my detector (a White's Coinmaster GT) and have found maybe about $5 in modern quarters, pennies and dimes. This past weekend I finally found my first old silver - a 1945 walking liberty half! It made all those hours of pulling Lincoln Cents out of the dirt well worth it! I am so much more motivated now to go back out again and find some more. Stick with it - it's definitely down there, just waiting to be plucked from the dirt!! Good luck!
